By Vinti Singh
Vinti Singh, a multi talented rising star is a perfect combination of sound, beauty and brains. She is trained in Indian Classical Music from Shri Ujjwal Roy who hails from West Bengal and was trained in Patiala Gharana and has one of the most mellow voices found in Indian Music Industry. Better known for her heart stopping performances she displays her enigmatic persona to entertain the crowds of all age groups.
She was not born in a family where music ran in the blood, and thus it was almost impossible to even think that a child could take up a career in music ever...Thus she had to recognize her talent at some point as she was growing up, and the people around her helped her do that. She had a natural ability to learn a song with lyrics, prelude n interlude by only listening to it 3-4 times. Her continued involvement in music and the support of her parents led her perform solo for a small annual function at her father’s bank when she was about 10-year-old.
Her formal music training started sometime in 2001. Going further she started taking part in local and state level singing competitions and that gave her a great boost in confidence, as she ended up winning most of them. She was in her third year of my graduation (B. Tech) and her singing platform at college level further cemented her decision to take singing as full time career. She was finally able to decide that she wanted to make a mark in the music industry only and there was nothing else she was better at! So her next step was to shift to Mumbai after finishing B. Tech. Ultimately, seven years of patiently contesting and auditioning finally gave her the platform she needed the most then, namely Voice of India (2008).
Recently she has performed at The Voice India (2015) where she got selected in Mika Singh’s team and reached till the second round. She has also done playback for yet to be released Hindi films such as Sauda and The Perfect Guest. Vinti has also sung for a single released in Pakistan, namely ‘Tu Ishq Ishq’ with Yousaf Jarral from Lahore, Pakistan. The music video has released worldwide now. She did first cover song of a very popular track from Kapoor n Sons called ‘Bolna’ in collaboration with a friend Sandeep Banerji.
